Azerbaijan and Armenia to have "additional work" on key issues of the peace agreement
Baku/30.06.23/Turan: At the talks in the United States on June 27-29 between the foreign ministers of Azerbaijan and Armenia, Jeyhun Bayramov and Ararat Mirzoyan, "additional progress" was made on the draft bilateral peace agreement. At the same time, the need to continue "additional work on some key issues" was noted, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry said following the talks.
The Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry reported on Friday that Bayramov and Mirzoyan held another round of talks on June 27-29 in Arlington, Virginia, at the George Shultz National Training Center for External Relations.
In addition, while in Washington, the ministers met with US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken and US National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan.
"At the talks between the ministers and their delegations, additional progress was made on the draft bilateral agreement on peace and the establishment of interstate relations," the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry said in a press release.
In addition, an agreement was reached “on additional articles of the draft agreement” and “a step was taken towards mutual understanding” in general on this document. "At the same time, the need to continue additional work on some key issues was noted," the Foreign Ministry of Azerbaijan stressed.
Both ministers expressed their gratitude to the American side for holding talks between Azerbaijan and Armenia, the press release concludes. -06D-
