Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan to step up Caspian Sea freight traffic
Baku/22.06.23/Turan: President Ilham Aliyev has today received visiting Kazakh Prime Minister Alikhan Smailov, the website of the head of state said.
Speaking of the strategic nature of relations between Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan, Ilham Aliyev said that the bilateral ties "are developing successfully in all areas and have a broad agenda".
Ties between Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan are also important in terms of regional cooperation, Aliyev said.
In turn, Smailov declared that relations between Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan are of a strategic partnership, and expressed satisfaction with the successful development of cooperation in all spheres.
According to him, Azerbaijan is Kazakhstan's most important economic and trade partner in the South Caucasus. Thus, based on last year's results, the volume of mutual trade has grown by 40 percent, exceeding 460 million dollars, and this year this dynamics continues.
Also, the sides exchanged views on cooperation in humanitarian, oil and transport spheres, information and communication technology, shipbuilding and other areas. They noted with satisfaction the increase in the volume of freight traffic across the Caspian Sea in the Middle Corridor between Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and third countries, and stressed the importance of stepping up joint efforts in this direction. Prospects of participation of the companies of Kazakhstan in various projects in the territory of Azerbaijan freed from occupation were discussed during the conversation.
In this respect, Kazakhstan's construction of the Centre for Development of Children's Creativity in Fizuli city was also highly appreciated. -06В-
