Azerbaijan has signed the Additional Protocol to the Convention "On the Prevention of Terrorism".
Baku/21.03.23/Turan: Azerbaijan signed the Additional Protocol to the Council of Europe (CE) Convention "On the Prevention of Terrorism".
The protocol was signed on March 20 at the headquarters of the Council of Europe in Strasbourg in the presence of the Permanent Representative of Azerbaijan to the Council of Europe, Ambassador Fakhreddin Ismayilov and Deputy Secretary General of the Council of Europe Bjorn Bergen.
The Protocol to the Council of Europe Convention on the Prevention of Terrorism criminalizes a number of acts, including willful participation in a terrorist group, training in terrorism, travel abroad for the purpose of terrorism and the financing or organization of such travel.
The provisions of the Protocol require all parties to designate permanent focal points to facilitate the rapid exchange of information on persons suspected of traveling to other countries for terrorist purposes.-03B06
