Azerbaijan invites Saudi Arabia to participate in projects on liberated territories
Baku/24.06.21/Turan: Issues of cooperation between Azerbaijan and Saudi Arabia were discussed on June 23 in Riyadh at a meeting between Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov and Minister of Investment of Saudi Arabia, Khalid bin Abdulaziz Al-Falih.
The press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported that Bayramov focused on energy, agriculture, tourism and mining as priority areas of economic cooperation between the two countries.
Touching upon infrastructure projects on the liberated territories of Azerbaijan, Bayramov invited the Saudi Arabian side to take part in therein.
At the same time, he offered to increase the export of agricultural products from Azerbaijan to Saudi Arabia.
In turn, Khalid Al-Falih recalled the possibility of cooperation in renewable energy sources and petrochemicals. Having emphasized the interest of Saudi companies in Azerbaijani projects, the Minister noted that the question would will be discussed at a meeting of the joint inter-governmental commission in Riyadh this autumn.-02D-

On Monday, the Baku Appeals Court considered the appeal of Talysh researcher Iqbal Abilov against the extension of his detention for another four months. The defense argued that the decision to extend Abilov's detention was unjustified, lawyer Fariz Namazly told reporters.
