Azerbaijan is ready to normalize relations with Armenia - J.Bayramov
Baku/14.10.21/Turan: Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov addressed a meeting of the CIS Council of Foreign Ministers in Minsk on October 14.
He said that Azerbaijan attaches great importance to cooperation within the CIS as well as the further expansion and deepening of bilateral relations with all CIS member states.
He noted in his speech that as a result of 44-day Patriotic War the nearly 30-year occupation of a part of Azerbaijani territories came to an end and the integrity of the country was ensured.
However, he pointed to the continuing mine danger. Azerbaijan attaches great importance to peacekeeping efforts, including activities of the Turkish-Russian Monitoring Centre.
He also informed the participants of the meeting about the destruction of historical, religious and cultural heritage during the occupation of Azerbaijani territories by Armenia.
At the same time Bayramov said that the conflict was a thing of the past and the key goal now is to restore the liberated territories and ensure the return of IDPs to their native lands.
Azerbaijan is ready to normalize its relations with Armenia on the basis of respect for international law, sovereignty, territorial integrity and inviolability of borders. Baku called to commense the process of delimitation and demarcation of borders with Armenia in accordance with these principles.
The Minister stressed that Azerbaijan was committed to fulfilling the commitments arising from the Trilateral Statements of 10 November 2020 and 11 January 2021, including the agreements to open all communications in the region. -06D-
