Azerbaijan offers ICRC another way to deliver aid to Karabakh
Baku/26.09.23/Turan: Taking into account the busy Khankendi-Lachin road, Azerbaijan offered the ICRC to use the Goris-Gafan-Eyvazly-Fizuli-Shusha-Khankendi road for medical evacuation and delivery of aid to Karabakh.
This was written by Azerbaijani Presidential aide Hikmet Hajiyev in social network X. "We maintain regular contacts with the ICRC and with the Armenian residents of Karabakh to promptly respond to humanitarian needs on the ground," he noted.
Since yesterday, hospitals in the Agdam, Sabirabad and Saatli regions of Azerbaijan have been prepared to receive a significant number of patients from Khankendi.
Medicines and other medical supplies were sent, particularly for treatment of burns. Food aid was also delivered.
Note that it will continue to be delivered today and in the coming days. A helicopter with a medical team from Armenia has been provided access to Karabakh to evacuate those in need of medical assistance and provide it on the ground. "We are currently working to provide the ICRC with exclusive access along the Gorus-Gafan-Eyvazly-Fizuli-Shusha-Khankendi road for medical evacuation and aid delivery," Hajiyev stressed. -06В-
