Baku/15.11.21/Turan: At midnight on November 15, Azerbaijan set up a checkpoint on the section of the Kafan-Chakaten road that runs through Azerbaijani territory, Armenian media reported. As a result, several Armenian villages were cut off and they had to drive 140 kilometers instead of 8 kilometers to get to Kafan town. The Armenian authorities promised to build a bypass road by the end of the year.

Official Baku has not yet commented on the situation. In turn, Armenian sources say there are 100-120 servicemen of Azerbaijan on the above-mentioned road who set up barricades and a post.

It should be noted that the actions of the Azerbaijani side came as a response to Armenia's refusal to open the road through Meghri (Zangezur corridor).

While speaking lip service to the opening of all communications, the Armenian side wants to control the traffic through its territory. At the same time, Armenians believe that they can move freely through the territory of Azerbaijan, including the Lachin corridor and the border highways.

Earlier, a similar post was established by the Azerbaijani side on another section of the border road - Goris-Kafan. This also caused serious problems for Armenian borderline villages. -02B-
