Azerbaijan stands up for settlement of situation in Ukraine on basis of international law
Baku/24.02.22/Turan: The Polish chairmanship of the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) held a special meeting of the Permanent Council on Thursday.
Araz Azimov, Deputy Foreign Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan, took part in the meeting in video format.
Speaking at the special meeting, Azimov noted that the situation in and around Ukraine is of serious concern, the press service of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry said.
It was stated that the aggravation of the situation resulted in human casualties, and condolences were expressed to the families and relatives of the victims.
It was stressed that the situation must be resolved peacefully and diplomatically in accord with the norms and principles of international law, including respect for the sovereignty of states, territorial integrity, inviolability of borders, as well as the indivisibility of security in the OSCE area.
In the current situation an urgent dialogue is needed to prevent further deterioration of the situation, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry concluded.-06B-
