Azerbaijan will additionally buy Barak MX air defense systems from Israel in the amount of $ 1.2 billion
According to the publication Defense Industry Europe, a few months ago, Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) conducted a successful demonstration of Barak MX systems in Azerbaijan. According to the official report of Azerbaijan, the tests included multiple launches of interceptors of various versions of the Barak MX system.
Various Israeli-made air defense systems have been used in Azerbaijan for several years, but a recent demonstration concerned an upgraded version. Barak MX is a modular air defense system designed to combat missile and aviation threats. It operates both on offshore platforms and on land.
Recall that the Ministry of Defense of the country announced the testing of this system in Azerbaijan under the name Ildirim- ER on September 13.
*Barak MX can use 3 types of missiles with a range of 35, 70 and 150 km at altitudes up to 16 km. Can detect, identify and shoot down aircraft, UAVs and missiles.
