Azerbaijani activists' demands are legitimate - Hikmet Hajiyev
Baku/13.12.22/Turan: On December13, assistant to the President of Azerbaijan Hikmet Hajiyev held a meeting with members of the diplomatic corps to inform about what is happening on the Lachin-Shusha Road. Azerbaijani civil society activists gathered on the section of the Lachin-Khankyandi road near Shusha to protest illegal activities on the territory of Azerbaijan in violation of the country's sovereignty.
During the period of the Armenian occupation, the environment of Azerbaijan suffered severe damage, natural resources were illegally exploited, and the same thing continues now in the territories that are temporarily under the control of Russian peacekeepers. This is the illegal exploitation of the “Gyzylbulag” and “Demirli” fields.
Despite the agreement with the peacekeepers on the issue of monitoring these deposits, on December 10, Azerbaijani specialists were not allowed to enter the mines.
Azerbaijani activists are protesting the violation of their obligations by the peacekeepers and the continuation of illegal activities in the territory of Azerbaijan. The opinions of the protesters correspond to all legal frameworks, Hajiyev emphasized. “They make legal demands; they do not want anything illegal. They demand to put an end to environmental terrorism in Karabakh,” Hajiyev said. --06B---
