Baku/20.09.23/Turan: According to reports of the Ministry of Defence, the Azerbaijani armed forces have advanced in the northern direction - Agdera (former Mardakert), where they took control of one of the main military units of the separatists.
In turn, Armenian sources report the attack and shelling of the district centre of Agdera itself and the evacuation of the local population.
In the southern direction (former Martuni), the Azerbaijani armed forces advanced towards Red Bazar and took control of the Amaras religious complex. It is reported about the death of the "mayor of Martuni".
In the eastern direction there is an advance towards Askeran and adjacent strategic heights.
Note that 1,800-2,000 residents of villages where fighting is going on have taken refuge at the peacekeepers' base in Khojaly.
