Azerbaijani Citizens Not to Be Allowed into Azerbaijan from Russia until April 20
Baku /11.04.20 / Turan: The Operational Headquarters under the Cabinet of Ministers urged Azerbaijani citizens who wish to return to the country from Russia to wait until April 20. Although a warning about the closure of borders was announced in advance, people gather at the border, creating tension at checkpoints. "In connection with the current situation, we urge Azerbaijani citizens living in Russia and wanting to return to the country, to comply with the quarantine requirements, and register at the Azerbaijani embassy and consulates in Russia by April 20," the statement says.
"The decision to open borders will be made after April 20, based on the analysis of the situation and taking into account the possibility of receiving citizens at quarantine points and the dynamics of the spread of the Corona Virus," the appeal notes.
During the border closure period, as an exception, only the return of the ashes of Azerbaijani citizens to the country accompanied by a close relative will be allowed (with the escort being quarantined after entering Azerbaijan).
The operational headquarters urges citizens to comply with these requirements and not to assemble at border points. -02B-
