Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry approved new accreditation rules for foreign media journalists
Baku/13.08.22/Turan: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan has approved new accreditation rules for foreign media representatives.
The MFA press service reports that accreditation rules for foreign media representatives have been developed in line with the Law "On Media". The accreditation will also take into account the provisions of the appropriate interstate agreements.
Accreditation will be carried out by the Foreign Ministry as before.
If any state imposes restrictions on the representatives of Azerbaijani media, symmetrically the same measures will be taken with regard to the journalists of this country.
Accreditation will also be denied if an incomplete package of documents is submitted or if false or unreliable information is given about a journalist.
Besides, a foreign journalist will be denied a permit to operate in Azerbaijan if he or she enters the country contrary to the requirements of the law, or if there is information about the illegal entry of a foreign media representative to Azerbaijan ever before.
The journalist will not receive accreditation if it is found that the activities of the foreign media representative were directed against the territorial integrity, independence, interests and sovereignty of Azerbaijan.
Applications for accreditation will be considered within 30 days. -03B06-
