Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry condemns release of Turkish diplomat's assassin
Baku/12.03.21/Turan: The Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry issued a statement on the decision of the US Los Angeles County Supreme Court to release Hampig Sassunyan.
"The release of the recognized terrorist H. Sassunyan, convicted of the murder of a diplomat, is a very false message and undoubtedly damages the interests of diplomacy, especially in the country that has one of the largest diplomatic corps in the world," the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry said on Twitter.
Sassunyan was sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder in 1982 of the Consul General of Turkey in Los Angeles Kemal Aryk. — 06D-
