Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry protests attack on Embassy in London
Baku/05.08.22/Turan: The Charge d'Affaires of the United Kingdom to Azerbaijan was summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on August 5. He was strongly protested due to the attack of the religious-radical group on the Azerbaijani Embassy in London, the press service of the Foreign Ministry said.
It was brought to the attention of the British side that this provocation "seriously exposed" the problem of security of the diplomatic mission, and the host country should take security measures in accordance with its international legal obligations.
Besides, assurances were sought that such situations would not occur again.
It was also demanded that the relevant British authorities conduct a thorough investigation into the act of vandalism and bring the perpetrators to justice.
The British Charge d'Affaires, expressing deep regret and concern over the incident, reported that an investigation into the incident will be carried out, the Foreign Ministry said. -06В-

Journalist Nargiz Abaslamova, held in Baku's Detention Center No. 1, was subjected to violence by a guard. While passing by the cell of her colleague Sevinj Vagifgizi, Abaslamova tried to greet her, reported on Abzas Media's Facebook page. However, guard Aygul Babaeva forcibly dragged Abaslamova away and deeply scratched the journalist's arm. Abaslamova stated that this is not the first time the mentioned guard has used force and been rude to journalists. A few days ago, Babaeva also used force against Sevinj Vagifgizi.
