Four editors of "Sputnik Azerbaijana" resigned
Baku/05.08.22/Turan: Four editors of the Russian-language version of "Sputnik Azerbaijana" resigned after refusing to publish the Russian Defense Ministry's report that the Azerbaijani armed forces violated the ceasefire during the latest hostilities in Karabakh.
The names of those who resigned are Zulfiya Gurbanova, Jamilya Efendiyeva, Elena Starostina and Gulzar Mustafayeva. The latter wrote in her Facebook account the following:
"So, I hereby inform you that as of today my paths with "Sputnik Azerbaijana" have parted. I and some of my colleagues were doing our best to defend the position of Azerbaijan.
As a citizen of the Republic of Azerbaijan, I am not ashamed of my work here, my conscience is clear about everything. When they tried to bend us, we put a point and simply left.
* "Sputnik-Azerbaijana" is a local branch of the Russian state agency "Sputnik".
* Recall that the activities of this media outlet have long been an object of criticism in Azerbaijan. A number of officials have repeatedly demanded that "Sputnik-Azerbaijana" be closed down due to the publication of materials incompatible with the legislation and the interests of Azerbaijan. -02B-
