Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry responds to accusations of Yerevan
Baku/09.02.22/Turan: The official Baku, represented by the spokesperson of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry, has rejected accusations by the Armenian Foreign Ministry that Azerbaijan is seeking "to change the identity of Armenian religious, historical and cultural monuments" in Karabakh.
Armenia has occupied Azerbaijani territories for 30 years, destroying hundreds of towns and villages. At the same time, historical, cultural and religious monuments of Azerbaijan were looted and destroyed.
During all these years Armenia has impeded the visit of UNESCO representatives to the occupied territories, concealing the crimes committed. At the same time, the cultural heritage of Azerbaijanis is being destroyed in Armenia itself.
Baku urged the Armenian Foreign Ministry to stop slandering statements and not to put itself in a hopeless situation, Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Leyla Abdullayeva said in a comment.
A reason for the accusations of the Armenian side was the decision of the Azerbaijani Ministry of Culture to establish a working group to study the Albanian heritage in the liberated territories. The group will consist of local and foreign specialists. They will conduct monitoring of Christian heritage. In case where any falsifications are revealed, these violations will be documented with the participation of international experts and presented to the international public. -02D-
