Baku/20.11.20/Turan: Representatives of the opposition and the expert community of Azerbaijan called on both President Ilham Aliyev and the head of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan to conclude a military alliance between the two countries.

“We appreciate the political, moral, diplomatic and material and technical support of the Republic of Turkey in the fight against the enemy while restoring the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan.

We thank our state for decisiveness in realizing this right, despite external pressure. We believe that the liberation Azerbaijani army, taking advantage of the experience of military cooperation with the Turkish armed forces, showed high combat effectiveness in the liberation of our lands, and therefore the losses in battles were small, ”the appeal says.

The appeal drew attention to Russia's violation of the terms of the November 10 tripartite ceasefire agreement.

In particular, the Russian Ministry of Defense, grossly violating the terms of the trilateral statement, introduced anti-aircraft missile systems, helicopters, unmanned aerial vehicles, electronic reconnaissance equipment and other weapons to Karabakh, which are not provided for in the agreement.

In addition, the Russian Armed Forces established observation posts and organized patrols in the territories not covered by the joint statement - in Shusha, Kalbajar and Aghdam.

The trilateral agreement provides for the deployment of the Russian "peacekeeping" contingent in parallel with the withdrawal of Armenian forces from Karabakh. At the same time, the Prime Minister of Armenia declares that the military units will not be withdrawn from Nagorno-Karabakh, which causes serious concern.

The establishment of the Peacekeeping Operations Monitoring Center to monitor the ceasefire was delayed, as was the return of Azerbaijani settlers under the auspices of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees.

Russia conducts discussions and consultations in the region directly with the "president" of the so-called "Nagorno-Karabakh Republic", which contradicts the principle of the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan and its sovereign rights over Nagorno-Karabakh.

Violation of the schedule for the evacuation of Armenians from Kalbajar is accompanied by arson, destruction of flora and fauna in front of the "peacekeepers".

The shortcomings in the activities of the peacekeeping contingent cause concern in the Azerbaijani public. Apparently, the military and political interests of Russia and Armenia coincide, which could trigger a new military escalation in the region, given that the Armenian opposition does not recognize the November 10 agreement.

The current undesirable situation dictates the need to take steps to ensure the security of the Azerbaijani state. One of the most effective steps is the conclusion of a strategic military alliance between Baku and Ankara.

"We call  on to take urgent steps to  create a military alliance between the two brotherly countries to ensure the security, integrity and sovereign rights of Azerbaijan in Nagorno-Karabakh," the appeal. The appeal was signed by the head of the Free Democrats party, Sulhaddin Akper; Chairman of the Democratic Party Sardar Jalaloglu, head of the Movement for Democracy and Welfare Gubad Ibadoglu, leader of the People's Party Panah Huseyn, leader of the Renaissance party Anar Asadli, leader of the Law and Justice party Ali Insanov, head of the National Unity Party Aydin Shukur, leader party "Nationalist Democrat" Ilyas Abdullayev and security expert Ilham Ismail. — 06D--
