Azerbaijani President paid tribute to January 20, 1990 victims
Baku/20.01.22/Turan: Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva visited the Martyrs' Alley where they paid tribute to the victims of January 20, 1990.
On this day 32 years ago the Soviet leadership sent troops to Baku in order to suppress the national liberation movement.
On the night of January 20, during the military operation 134 civilians were killed and more than 700 people wounded. Another 13 people were killed in Neftechala and Jalilabad.
President Ilham Aliyev laid a wreath to the Eternal Flame memorial.-0-
