Azerbaijani President pardoned 153 convicts
The Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev signed an order on October 14 for a pardon of 153 convicts. According to the order of the sentence in prison will be released 134 people.
Two convicts are released from probation . Another 16 people are exempt from the payment of fines. Another man is relieved of his labor.
Among those pardoned there is former economic development minister Farhad Aliyev and his brother Rafiq Aliyev , who were arrested in 2005 on charges of attempting to overthrow the government and subsequently sentenced respectively to 10 and 9 years in prison for economic crimes.
Recall that on the eve of the elections, they expressed support for Ilham Aliyev and renounced the opposition candidate Jamil Gasanli, who once headed the Public Committee for the protection of their rights. -0 -

Armenia is not against the dissolution of the OSCE Minsk Group, but does not consider it appropriate to discuss this issue now. "In the context of peace, we consider it possible to make a decision on the dissolution of the OSCE Minsk Group. When peace is an established fact, the existence of such a format may raise questions," Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said at a press conference today. On August 31, Azerbaijan observes a "day of silence" before the Sunday’s early parliamentary elections for the unicameral Milli Majlis. On August 30, at approximately 22:55, the Armenian Nuclear Power Plant in Metsamor was disconnected from the country's power grid, as reported by the Armenian Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure. The shutdown was caused by a lightning strike, which triggered the plant's safety systems to switch the station to a safe shutdown mode. Currently, the plant's staff is working on restarting the facility.
