Azerbaijani President signs an order on induction into military service
Baku/04.09.21/Turan: President Ilham Aliyev yesterday signed an order on induction of citizens into military service from October 1 to October 30, 2021.
According to the document, from October 1 to October 30, 2021, citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan, b. 2003, who turned 18 on the day of induction, are called up for active military service.
Besides, subject to induction are persons, b.1986-2002, under the age of 35, who have not completed active military service and have no right to deferral from induction or not exempt from induction.
At the same time, servicemen who have completed their service life will be dismissed from October 1 to October 30.—06D-

According to the Turkish newspaper Sabah, officials from the Istanbul Prosecutor's Office's Anti-Smuggling Unit have detained an Azerbaijani citizen with a large shipment of gold. The detention took place near the Vadi İstanbul shopping center in the Sarıyer district, where a taxi was stopped. During the search, 70 kg of gold was found. The Azerbaijani citizen in the vehicle claimed ownership of the cargo and also stated that he was a diplomat. The investigation by the prosecutor's office is ongoing, reports Sabah newspaper. The media outlet does not disclose the name of the "diplomat," only his initials – M.G.Ş. The Azerbaijani Ministry of Foreign Affairs has declined to comment on the situation.
