Azerbaijan lifted restrictions on flights from 13 more countries
Baku/04.09.21/Turan: Since September 6, flights from 13 more countries can be operated to Azerbaijan. For that purpose, appropriate amendments were made to the Resolution "On Measures to Extend the Special Quarantine Regime and Remove Some Restrictions".
In particular, since September 6, 2021, entry/exit to the Republic of Azerbaijan by air from China, Estonia, Finland, Hong Kong (CPR), France, Croatia, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia and Japan is permitted.
Note that citizens of these countries or foreigners and stateless persons permanently residing in their territory can arrive in Azerbaijan.
At the same time, provisions for their admission to the territory of Azerbaijan are availability of the COVID-19 passport (a document confirming full vaccination against COVID-19 or the presence of immunity after recovery from COVID19) and a negative result of a PCR test for COVID-19 issued within 72 hours before the flight.
For passengers aged from 1 to 18 years, a document confirming a negative result of the PCR test is required.

According to the Turkish newspaper Sabah, officials from the Istanbul Prosecutor's Office's Anti-Smuggling Unit have detained an Azerbaijani citizen with a large shipment of gold. The detention took place near the Vadi İstanbul shopping center in the Sarıyer district, where a taxi was stopped. During the search, 70 kg of gold was found. The Azerbaijani citizen in the vehicle claimed ownership of the cargo and also stated that he was a diplomat. The investigation by the prosecutor's office is ongoing, reports Sabah newspaper. The media outlet does not disclose the name of the "diplomat," only his initials – M.G.Ş. The Azerbaijani Ministry of Foreign Affairs has declined to comment on the situation.
