AZERTAC journalist was not allowed into New Caledonia
Baku/05.12.23/Turan: Journalist of the state news agency of Azerbaijan AZERTAC Aygun Hasanova, sent to New Caledonia, was denied entry into this French overseas territory, despite having a visa. AZERTAC stated this in a statement.
Moreover, the document further notes, she was detained for a day at the police station and expelled from the country as an “undesirable person.”
According to AZERTAC, the journalist was not allowed into New Caledonia “precisely because of her arrival from Azerbaijan.”
“The French state is trying by all means to limit the dissemination of facts about the struggle for freedom and independence, which is intensifying in New Caledonia and other French colonies,” AZERTAC believes, emphasizing that an entry ban was imposed on the Azerbaijani journalist on the eve of the rally scheduled for December 5.
AZERTAC assessed this fact
as “restrictions on journalistic activity, freedom of speech and expression”, preventing journalists from fulfilling their duties and condemned France for “hostile attitude towards fundamental human rights and freedom of speech at the state level.” -06B-
