Baku expects more active relations with Iran after new President elected
Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov said this in an interview with journalists. "A new President has been elected in Iran and the President of Azerbaijan congratulated him. We are interested in the implementation of projects previously agreed between Azerbaijan and Iran," the Minister said.
According to him, Azerbaijan is interested in developing relations with Iran. "Iran is our big neighbor. There are historical ties between our countries. We have a program with an overview for the future. We believe that the relations will develop even more," Bayramov said.
Note that Masoud Pezeshkian, a representative of the "reform wing" of Iran's political elite, an ethnic Azerbaijani, won the second round of the Presidential elections in Iran on July 5.
