Baku/29.12.22/Turan: On December 27, Russian President Vladimir Putin and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan discussed in detail the topic of the Lachin corridor in St. Petersburg. Dmitry Peskov, press secretary of the Russian president, told reporters about this on Thursday. He noted that Russia is concerned about the tension in the region and will continue to promote the settlement between Armenia and Azerbaijan.

"The Russian Federation continues and intends to continue its mediation efforts, fulfilling, first of all, those agreements that were reached on a trilateral basis," RIA Novosti quoted Peskov.

Responding to Nikol Pashinyan’s call to send an international peacekeeping contingent to Karabakh, he said: “In order to provide the Russian peacekeepers stationed in Nagorno-Karabakh with a UN mandate, as well as the possible involvement of international forces, the consent of both Armenia and Azerbaijan is necessary."

"International peacekeepers can be involved if there is consent from both sides of the conflict. And this is not only Armenia, but also Azerbaijan," Peskov stressed. -02D-
