Baku Prepares for Military Parade
Baku / 25.06.18 / Turan: On June 26, a military parade will be held in the country's capital dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the creation of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces.
To participate in the celebrations, a number of high-ranking foreign delegations have arrived in Baku.
The squadron of the Turkish Air Force's combat aircraft - 8 F-5 fighters and two F-16 fighters - will also take part in the military parade.
Meanwhile, Azadlig Square and the streets adjoining it in the city center are blocked for traffic from the morning of Sunday. On Saturday evening, heavy military equipment entered the city. It will take part in the military parade.
Columns of artillery, rocket and armored vehicles are located in the area of the main square of the capital, from where the military parade will begin.
Baku residents and residents of the capital watched for about an hour the movement of military equipment, fixing it on mobile phones.
Earlier, Defense Minister Zakir Hasanov said the parade would be presented with new military equipment acquired in the last period.
As expected, the parade on June 26 will begin in the traditional time - 10 a.m. with the flights of military aviation. -02B-

According to the Turkish newspaper Sabah, officials from the Istanbul Prosecutor's Office's Anti-Smuggling Unit have detained an Azerbaijani citizen with a large shipment of gold. The detention took place near the Vadi İstanbul shopping center in the Sarıyer district, where a taxi was stopped. During the search, 70 kg of gold was found. The Azerbaijani citizen in the vehicle claimed ownership of the cargo and also stated that he was a diplomat. The investigation by the prosecutor's office is ongoing, reports Sabah newspaper. The media outlet does not disclose the name of the "diplomat," only his initials – M.G.Ş. The Azerbaijani Ministry of Foreign Affairs has declined to comment on the situation.
