Ban for journalist Sh. Chobanoglu on leaving Azerbaijan is lifted
Baku/23.12.20/Turan: The ban for the from journalist Shahveled Chobanoglu (Namazov) on leaving Azerbaijan, introduced by the General Prosecutor's Office in 2014, was lifted, Chobanoglu told Turan.
According to the journalist, he was treated for coronavirus for a long time.
“When I was ill, my daughter, who is receiving medical education in Turkey, agreed with the doctors of the Ankara Gulhane hospital to treat me there. My lawyer Zibeyda Sadigova sent an urgent telegram to the Prosecutor General's Office, and appealed to the court again to lift at least temporarily the restriction. It turned out that the ban had been lifted a month ago. It has come to a point that a decision is made in relation to a citizen, but he is not notified about it,” Chobanoglu said.
In turn, Sadigova's lawyer confirmed that the ban on travel abroad for Chobanoglu was lifted on November 11, but neither she nor her client was notified of this.
The ban on the journalist's departure from the country was introduced after he was interrogated as a witness in a criminal case against Radio Azadlig at the end of 2014. — 03B06-
