BBC promises to cover Azerbaijani point of view as well
London/09/04/23/Turan: After Azerbaijan criticized the BBC broadcasting company for its pro-Armenian position and biased coverage of events in Karabakh, Turan received the following statement from the BBC spokesperson:
“The BBC is committed to reporting with due impartiality and hearing from a range of contributors with differing perspectives across the breadth of our news programming as we continue to cover developments in Karabakh. We will be hearing the Azerbaijan perspective in the coming days on BBC News.
“Separately, BBC Azerbaijani is committed to serving audiences with impartial and independent news and information”.
Recall that official Baku was criticized by the report of the BBC journalist “Nagorno-Karabakh: People are losing consciousness in the line for bread”, as well as a TV show where the accusations against Azerbaijan were voiced by performer Serj Tankian and separatist Artak Beglaryan.
After that, the Azerbaijan Press Council called to close the Baku office of the BBC, and the British broadcaster to apologize for the one-sided and biased coverage of events. -02B-
