Borrel urges not to allow "Astanisation" conflicts in Karabakh, Syria and Libya
Baku/04.12.20/Turan: The Head of EU diplomacy, Josep Borrel, believes that Russia and Turkey are "Astanisation" (similar to the Astana format for the settlement in Syria) the conflicts in Nagorno-Karabakh, Syria and Libya, that is, they are pushing the EU out of the settlement process. He made the corresponding statement in his blog on Thursday, TASS reports.
"In such conflicts as Nagorno - Karabakh, Libya and Syria, we see a form of " Astanisation" of regional conflicts (in relation to the Astana format for Syria), which leads to the exclusion of Europe from the process of resolving regional conflicts in favor of Russia and Turkey," he said.
According to Borrel, the EU should be present where the interests of the Union are at stake. "Therefore, we need to close many gaps in our capacity, and be present and active where our interests are at stake," he added.--0--
