Baku/10.12.21/Turan: Deputy Head of Mission, Azerbaijan Philip Barclay pleasantly surprised the participants of the event dedicated to The International Human Rights Day.
Speaking at a ceremony organized jointly by the British and EU embassies on December 9, the diplomat clearly outlined a number of problems in the field of human rights violations in Azerbaijan. It was also noteworthy that the diplomat spoke Azerbaijani.
Thus, he recalled two statements by the British diplomatic mission condemning the murder of Sevinj Maharramova, who became a victim of domestic violence. He further cited the statement of the embassy, which condemned the police violence against the public figure Tofig Yagublu at the protest rally in support of the political prisoner Saleh Rustamov. He also recalled the recent fact of parental abuse of two children.
“Why do such terrible things happen in society, how can our social services prevent them? How to do to prevent such things from happening in the future? We must find answers to these difficult questions. "
