British Diplomats Not Allowed to Khadija Ismayilova Trial
Today in Baku Serious Crimes Court access to the trial of Khadija Ismayilova was again limited. However, unlike previous days, several restrictions were "gentle" in nature.
Thus, the mother and several relatives of Ismayilova, an investigative journalist Shahveled Chobanoglu and a couple of representatives of the independent press were able to get into the room.
As for Western diplomats, the embassies of the US, Norway and Germany were represented. However, representatives of the British diplomatic mission were not allowed. Moreover, the refusal was quite demonstrative.
Perhaps the court was "offended" at the British Minister Lidington, who harshly condemned yesterday’s verdict on the human rights activist Leila Yunus and her husband Arif Yunus. -06D-
