Canada's threats to impose sanctions against Azerbaijan are counterproductive and will have no result - Foreign Ministry
Baku/26.10.23/Turan: Official Baku rejected the accusations against Azerbaijan voiced by Canadian Foreign Minister Melanie Joly, stating the inadmissibility of threats to apply sanctions against Azerbaijan.
The Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry comments on the groundlessness of Joly's claims about the "deportation" of Karabakh Armenians and the "humanitarian crisis" in the region.
Expressing support for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Armenia, Joly did not show the same respect for the integrity of Azerbaijan. Having taken care of the Armenians who voluntarily left Karabakh, she did not inquire about the situation of Azerbaijanis expelled from the former occupied territories of Azerbaijan and forcibly deported from Armenia.
This "clearly demonstrates the outright bias" of the Canadian Minister.
As for the claims that Canada "does not rule out sanctions" against Azerbaijan, attempts to exert pressure on Azerbaijan are a "deep delusion" and such measures will never bring success to anyone, the commentary says. -06B-
