Chargé d�Affaires William Gill�s visit to Nakhchivan
Baku/30.11.18/Turan: U.S. Chargé d"Affaires William Gill visited the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic November 29-30, and met with Vasif Talibov, Chairman of the Nakhchivan Supreme Assembly, Namig Pashayev, Head of the State Energy Service, Ulkar Bayramova, Ombudswoman, and Javid Safarov, Minister of Labor and Social Protection. Chargé d"Affaires Gill"s visit was an opportunity to discuss shared priorities, such as inclusion of persons with disabilities, and economic and energy cooperation.
On November 29, U.S. Embassy Baku sponsored the ASA Theater performance of "Of Mice and Men" at the Nakhchivan State Musical Theatre, in celebration of the 2018 International Day of Persons with Disabilities. On November 30, Chargé d"Affaires Gill visited the Nakhchivan Regional Rehabilitation Center for People with Disabilities to learn about the range of services it provides.

On 15 November, a group of activists held a protest at the COP29 climate conference against the environmental pollution in Africa and the destruction of the continent's ecology by large companies. The activists also expressed dissatisfaction with the fact that a part of the revenues from mining is not channelled into the restoration of nature's damage.
