Chief of General Staff Dismissed in Armenia
Baku / 24.05.18 / Turan: The Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan announced the dismissal of Movses Hakobyan from the post of Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the country. Pashinyan made a corresponding appeal to President Armen Sargsyan.
According to the Prime Minister, by the end of the day he will announce the name of the new Chief of the General Staff, who will be presented to the army command tomorrow.
It should be noted that Movses Hakobyan was also a member of the so-called Karabakh clan. He is a former commander of the forces of Nagorno-Karabakh, and earlier he was an officer of the notorious motorized rifle regiment No. 366, which participated in the bloody capture of the Azerbaijani town of Khojaly in Nagorno-Karabakh in February 1992.

On Monday, the Baku Appeals Court considered the appeal of Talysh researcher Iqbal Abilov against the extension of his detention for another four months. The defense argued that the decision to extend Abilov's detention was unjustified, lawyer Fariz Namazly told reporters.
