Clarification by the Turan Agency:
On May 20, Turan published a report titled: "Iranian President decided to lecture Shahin Mustafayev". The article was based on an IRNA agency report that said:
"Raisi said that the United States and the Zionist regime do not care about the countries of the world and the region, adding: 'The existence of constructive relations based on mutual interests between neighboring countries, especially Iran and Azerbaijan, is the most effective factor in maintaining and strengthening regional security".
We conveyed this thought not in the form of a quote, but as our own assessment as follows:
"According to the Iranian President, Azerbaijan's security depends more on Iran than on other countries."
Such an interpretation does not distort the essence of what was said; however, it caused discontent of the Iranian Embassy in Baku which declared that there was no such phrase in the report of IRNA, and we distorted what the head of Iran had said.
Once again, this sentence is not a quote, it is the interpretation by the author of the material, with which one can agree or not. -0-
