CNST called for a campaign to completely repeal the 907th Amendment
Baku/28.05.21/Turan: The Center for National Strategic Thought (CNST) has called on political forces, public organizations and the Azerbaijani society as a whole to launch a campaign to completely repeal the 907th Amendment to the Freedom Support Act.
This law which discriminates against Azerbaijan was passed by the US Congress in 1992 to prohibit rendering the direct state assistance to Azerbaijan by the US government due to the" blockade" of Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh.
The idea to launch a campaign for the repeal of this Amendment has been approved at the CNST meeting following debates over the Zangezur corridor and speculations of the political circles of Armenia and the Armenian Diaspora around this transport project.
For decades, Armenia has been complaining to the whole world about a blockade by Azerbaijan and Turkey, demanding to open borders and give it an exit. But now it is boycotting real steps to eliminate this "blockade".
According to the CNST, the validity of the 907th Amendment, adopted by the US Congress under the influence of the Armenian lobby, is completely absurd.
In this regard, the CNST calls on the country's public to unite and launch a campaign to completely repeal the 907th Amendment to the Freedom Support Act.
The CNST was established in 2014 led by head of the Musavat Party, ex-Speaker of the Parliament Isa Gambar. –06D-
