Conditions of Special Quarantine Regime in Azerbaijan May Become Even Tougher
Baku / 11.04.20 / Turan: According to the head of the press service of the Cabinet of Ministers of Azerbaijan, Ibrahim Mammadov, despite the measures taken to prevent the spread of the Corona Virus, "the number of cases of infection prevails over the number of convalescences." “This trend requires new preventative measures to be taken. Doctors also talk about the importance of self-isolation. However, observations and facts show that citizens do not consider the requirement of self-isolation important,” Mammadov said on Saturday.
According to him, while on April 8 there were 3,073 violations of the quarantine regime during the day, then on April 10 this figure increased to 3,112. And on April 11, 3,810 violations were registered in the afternoon.
These facts, in the opinion of Mammadov, indicate that there is a need for more stringent restrictive measures.
Authorities canceled permits for the movement of 47 thousand people who previously went through online registration.
“Until today, the government did not want to take tough measures to limit it, because there was confidence that citizens would show enough discipline to comply with the rules of the quarantine regime and observe self-isolation without tough measures. However, today's situation shows that further tightening of isolation rules is becoming a requirement of the day,” Mammadov said. —06B-
