Criminal case launched on the attack of Rahim Gaziev (updated)
Baku/13.06.20/Turan: A criminal case has been launched on the fact of an attack on ex-Minister of Defense of Azerbaijan Rahim Gaziyev. The investigation is under Art. 221.1 (hooliganism) of the Criminal Code, said the head of the press service of the Main Police Department of Baku Elshad Hajiyev.
According to him, the alleged suspect of committing an attack on Gaziev has been identified.
He himself stated that a blow had been inflicted on him from behind by a blunt object and he did not see who made the attack.
The ambulance team provided him with medical assistance at the police station.

Attack on RaHim Gaziev
Baku / 12.06.20 / Turan: Former Azerbaijani Minister of Defense Rahim Gaziyev was attacked on June 12 at about 5 p.m.
Gaziyev was attacked when he left his house in the Yasamal district of Baku, Avaz Zeynalli told Turan.
According to Gaziev, the journalist said that someone behind him caused a strong blow with a piece of iron.
Two or three attackers said nothing and hid from the scene.
Gaziev had a broken head, and blood flowed.
Zeynalli said that he immediately reported the incident to the service of 103 "ambulances" and 102 - the "hot line" of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
The police arrived an hour later, but the ambulance did not arrive.
Yasamal police officers took Gaziev to the police station.
According to the head of the press service of the Main Police Department of Baku, Elshad Hajiyev, investigation is ongoing, and information will be provided on the results.
