CSTO Secretary General Yury Khachaturov is accused
Yerevan / 27.07.18 / Turan: Yuri Khachaturov, the CSTO Secretary General, was charged. Armenian media reported referring to the press service of the Special Investigative Service, Khachaturov was accused of involvement in the events of March 1 - 2, 2008 in Yerevan. Khachaturov, who occupied the post of Chief of the General Staff of the Armenian Armed Forces at that time, was charged
with overthrowing the constitutional system in collusion with other persons.
The investigation submitted to the court of general jurisdiction of the first instance of Yerevan an application for Khachaturov's arrest.
Earlier the search was announced for the then Armenian Defense Minister Mikael Harutyunyan, who is accused of using the army against peaceful demonstrators. Such accusation was also put forward against former President Robert Kocharian. It is noteworthy that Khachaturov is the CSTO secretary general for the right of rotation, and his permanent place of work is the city of Minsk, from where he came to Yerevan to give testimony to the investigation.-02D-
