Defense Minister discussed the situation in the region with the NATO General
Baku/12.10.21/Turan: On Tuesday, Defense Minister Zakir Hasanov received the head of the Operational Command of NATO Allied Forces, Rear Admiral Bulent Turan. Hasanov informed the guest about the work done in the liberated territories, as well as about the current situation on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border, the press service of the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry reported.
Expressing satisfaction with the current state of cooperation with NATO and the positive results achieved in this area, Hasanov stressed the importance of further development of relations.
Rear Admiral Turan thanked the Azerbaijani military for their contribution to the Resolute Support non-combat mission in Afghanistan and stressed that he supports the further expansion of the existing military cooperation.
The parties exchanged views on joint activities carried out within the framework of partnership with NATO. — 16D-

On January 17, the Khatai District Court of Baku rejected the requests for house arrest for journalists Aynur Elgünesh and Natig Djavadly, employees of Meydan TV, their lawyers, Elchin Sadigov and Zibeyda Sadigova reported to Turan news agency. According to the lawyers, there are no legal or procedural grounds for keeping the journalists in detention. The journalists themselves stated that the criminal case against them had been fabricated to punish them for their professional activities. The defense intends to appeal the court's refusal to transfer the journalists to house arrest.
