Democratic forces intend to hold a protest in Baku
Members of the democratic camp gathered late Thursday night in the office of "Musavat" party to discuss the situation in the country. The reason for the meeting became the events in Ismailli region. The leader of "Musavat" party, Isa Gambar, noted that arbitrariness and corruption prosper throughout the country, and similar events are possible everywhere.
The leader of Democratic Party, Sardar Jalaloglu said that Azerbaijan does not need the revolutionary version of the situation. He believes that some inner forces are interested in the current aggravation of the situation, and called for dialogue with the authorities.
Representatives of other political forces did not oppose the dialogue, but questioned the desire of the authorities to have a dialogue with the opposition.
Most radical youth organizations intend to hold protest actions, and express their solidarity with the residents of Ismailli.
In conclusion, the debate participants called on the authorities to stop the repression and to release those arrested, otherwise they will call on for the all-republican action of protest. -05C-
