DEVAMM is concerned about health of Movsum Samedov
Center to Protect Freedom of Conscience (DEVAMM) issued a statement, expressing concern with the health of Haji Movsum Samedov,an accused chairman of the Islamic Party.
The statement said that Samedov’s lawyer is not allowedto met with him, and is not informed about Samedov’s health. Samedov’s relatives said that he has been suffering from heart failure for a month.
The entire responsibility for Samedov’s health bears the power; it is necessary to create an independent medical examination for the diagnosis and treatment of
Samedov.
Movsum Samedov was sentenced to 12 years in prison in October 2011 on charges of attempted forcible regime change, illegal possession of weapons, etc.
* The reason for his arrest became a statement made at a meeting of the party in January of that year, calling to fight the ruling regime in Azerbaijan. At the same meeting Samedov compared Ilham Aliyev with Yazidis, a man who betrayed Islam. -05D04-
