Dmitry Medvedev: The Karabakh issue should be discussed with Turkey
Moscow / 01.02.21 / Turan: The Deputy Head of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev, in an interview with the Russian media on Monday, touched upon the topic of Karabakh, making serious statements.
In particular, he noted that it is obvious that the issue of status has not been resolved, but it cannot be discussed now, because any discussion around the status creates sharp tension.
“It is impossible to do this now. Moreover, the positions of the parties here are very different, even within Armenia there are discussions". “Therefore, it is better to postpone the question of status for the future period,” he said.
Asked how he assesses the role of Turkey in this conflict, Medvedev said: “Turkey is our neighbor and a very important partner. And a very close country for Azerbaijan. This factor cannot be ignored. We have a productive dialogue with them - the President of our country constantly communicates with President Erdogan on this topic. "
“We just have to take into account the realities that exist in our region. And the reality is that today this issue must be discussed with partners from Turkey, ”Medvedev stressed. -02D-
