Today the ruling party "Yeni Azerbaijan" has submitted to the CEC the documents for their leader, Ilham Aliyev, as a candidate for the presidency.
He was nominated at the party congress on June 7 this year.
Within five days, the CEC should adopt an informed decision on the approval or disapproval of the candidate. If his candidacy is approved, the collection of 40,000 signatures for registration as a candidate for presidency will begin.—06D-
