The number of employed persons increased by 0.8%
On the first of July this year the economy of Azerbaijan labored 1,490.3 thousand people, who have employment contracts with their employers. The number of workers employed with the beginning of the year increased by 12,600 persons or 0.8%. Turan was told by the State Statistics Committee.
In June, the public sector employed 891,800 people, which is 7,300 persons (0.9%) less than at the beginning of this year. From the beginning, the number of workers employed in the private sector increased by 19,900 persons (+3.4%).
In the field of education in June there were 22.5%, in industrial plants - 12.7%, in trade facilities and repair of vehicles - 18.6%, and in construction - 7.3% of the employed persons. -08D-

Azerbaijan’s imports of animal and vegetable fats and oils climbed 23.9% by weight and 16.2% by value from January to September 2024, official data revealed. Despite the uptick in volume, the import cost of these products saw a decrease compared to the same period last year, with the cost per ton of vegetable oil falling by 6.1% to $1,199.6 in 2024, down from $1,278.6 in 2023.
