United Nations Deputy Secretary-General Amina Mohammed stated that holding WUF13 in Baku became an important platform for discussing practical solutions in urbanization and demonstrating the transformation of Azerbaijani cities.

French President Emmanuel Macron held a telephone conversation with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, Aliyev said on the social media platform X.

Member of parliament Rasim Musabayov stated that the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) is not currently a military alliance, although military-technical cooperation among its members will continue to expand. Speaking to the YouTube channel “Novosti Kavkaza,” he noted that discussions about transforming the OTS into a military bloc are largely directed at Russia.

President Ilham Aliyev stated in an interview with Euronews on May 18 that the hosting of the World Urban Forum (WUF13), with the participation of representatives from 182 countries, demonstrates the country’s growing international role and rising interest in sustainable urban development.
