Drug Courier with 33 Kg of Drugs Shot Dead on Iranian Border
Baku /30.06.20 / Turan: On June 29, border guards stopped another attempt to smuggle drugs on the Iran-Azerbaijan border. According to the press service of the Border Service of Azerbaijan, at about midnight near the village of Ashagi Chemenli of the Beylagan region, two violators of the border from Iran were noticed.
Warning fire was opened, but the attackers returned fire. During the shootout, one of the violators was killed, and the second was able to escape.
A sawn-off shotgun and two bags with 33 kg of drugs were found on the spot. Later, a meeting of the border guards of Azerbaijan and Iran was held at the indicated location. -02D-
