Drugs of the same company will be used during the first and second vaccinations
Baku/03.05.21/Turan: On May 2, 40, thousand doses of the Russian Sputnik-V vaccine were delivered to Azerbaijan. According to the Russian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Mikhail Bocharnikov, the next batch of the vaccine will be delivered this month.
AstraZeneca vaccine will also be used in Azerbaijan from May 3, 80,000 doses of which have already been delivered to the country, the Health Ministry said.
This vaccine does not have a very good reputation - there are reports about some cases of vascular thrombosis following this vaccine. However, WHO and the EU did not consider this vaccine dangerous.
Nevertheless, some of the citizens of Azerbaijan do not want this vaccine to be administered to them. What about the one who made the first injection of the Chinese vaccine Sinovac? Can they get another vaccine a second time? Asking the question from Turan, the Association for the Management of Territorial Medical Units (Təbib) told that mixing of vaccines is not allowed.
If a person was vaccinated with one vaccine, then the second time will be the same. The country has a sufficient supply of Sinovac vaccine, which has been used since the start of the vaccination campaign in Azerbaijan.
At the same time, citizens are given the opportunity to choose a vaccine, Təbib noted.
Earlier it was reported that from May 3, the 60-years old and older people could be vaccinated with AstraZeneca, produced by the University of Oxford. This vaccine will be applied in Baku and six regions of the country - Lankaran, Sheki, Ganja, Mingachevir, Absheron and Sumgayit, the Ministry of Health said. -0-
