Eldar Hasanov Becomes Ambassador to Serbia
The head of state appointed the current Azerbaijani Ambassador to Romania, Eldar Hasanov, as the new ambassador to Serbia. At the same time, Hasanov remains as the ambassador to Montenegro and Bosnia-Herzegovina.
Earlier, Eldar Hasanov submitted a letter to the head of state in which he asked to transfer from his position, explaining that the workload was too heavy. From this letter it was felt that Hasanov expected to return to Baku and obtain a position in Azerbaijan. This desire of Eldar Hasanov "accidentally" became known to some media that rushed to discuss what position Hasanov would receive. But hints from the former Attorney General of loyalty and devotion to Ilham Aliyev were not heard. The head of state did not consider the complaint of Hasanov on workload and assigned him even more work.
Eldar Hasanov was Attorney General under President Heydar Aliyev, but was deposed and sent into retirement. Some time later, he was sent to conduct diplomatic work away from Baku.
In years past, Hasanov has repeatedly tried to return to Baku, proving his necessity and loyalty. However, the administration of the President does not trust this man very much. Back in the late 90's, the press got a leak that then Attorney General Eldar Hasanov and the head of National Security, Namik Abbasov, behaved "improperly" and the Security Council criticized them for it.
The leakage was organized specifically to discredit these people and move them from their positions, which happened a short time later.
Several years ago, Ilham Aliyev decided to return Eldar Hasanov, but the press made another leak that the president was advised not to. "He's going to grab power," some senior from the administration allegedly warned Aliyev. -03D-
