Eldar Hasanov's lawyer appealed to the country's leadership
Baku/31.07.21/Turan: The lawyers of the former ambassador of Azerbaijan to Serbia and the ex-prosecutor general of the country, Eldar Hasanov, apepaled to the head of state Ilham Aliyev and first vice president Mehriban Aliyeva.
They ask for their assistance in changing the measure of restraint for Hasanov in connection with the serious health. The defenders note that they are applying for the “last time”, because Hasanov’s health is so grave that there cannot be “next time”. The appeal indicates that Hasanov was transferred to the military hospital of the State Security Service on July 2. He underwent several examinations, underwent a colonoscopic intervention (bowel surgery).
The lawyers remind that in their previous appeals to the country's leadership, they noted that since October 2020, Hasanov has had repeated dizziness, he cannot stand on his legs, and as a result, he often falls. Since then, he has fallen over 170 times, even though using a cane.
Such a serious complication is because of the repeated refusal of the Prosecutor General's Office to admit doctors of Hasanov’s choice.
During the examination at the hospital, Hasanov was diagnosed with paroxysmal positional vertigo, left-sided discogenic cervical radiculopathy, (cervical sciatica) discogenic lumbar radiculopathy (lumbar radiculitis). These diseases cause dizziness and fallses.
The absence of timely detection of diseases and adequate treatment, or rather the prevention of their development, since they are incurable, led to serious complications.
It would be possible to slow down the disease, according to lawyers, through the prescription of drugs, exercise, physiotherapy, constant fresh air. Now, after the complication of diseases, the next fall of Hasanov can cause irreparable consequences, the lawyers say.
Taking into account the above, the lawyers ask the President and the First Vice-President of the country to assist in changing the measure of restraint for Hasanov and his release from custody in order to provide quality medical care and effective care for him. The appeals were signed by lawyers Javad Javadov, Adem Mammadov, Valeh Mehraliev, and Jalil Mirzoyev.
Eldar Hasanov was detained on August 13, 2020 by employees of the State Security Service, and the next day the court arrested him on charges of abuse and misappropriation of budget funds.
Eldar Hasanov in 2001-2020 served as the ambassador of Azerbaijan to Romania, and then to Serbia, Montenegro and Bosnia.
In 1995-2000, he was the Prosecutor General of Azerbaijan. -06D-
